SIU enrollment highest since 1975

EDWARDSVILLE -- Fall enrollment at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville is shattering the school's records.

Provost Paul Ferguson says the campus' overall enrollment of 13,602 is the most since 1975.

The number of first-time freshman is up 3.6 percent to 1,895, marking the fifth year in a row that there's been an increase in new students there.

The school says its full-time enrollment of 11,635 is up for the sixth year in a row, another record for the university.
