Meeks giving city students a voice

I was originally against Rev. Meeks' bus trip with 3,000 people to New Trier High School to enroll them.

And, I thought the idea of taking students in need of an education out of school to protest was nuts.

But, it all makes a lot of sense now.

Meeks has given the people in need a voice on educational funding in Illinois.

The publicity surrounding his trip has been all over the local and national news. And something is said about his trip in the newspapers and on the news every day in Chicago, including this letter.

And, what really goes on during the first day of school anyway?

In my opinion, this is by far more productive, like it or not.

It reminds me a lot of the way Doug Sohn was able to get free advertisement for Hot Doug's by reporting himself for selling foie gras and getting fined. A $250 fine was peanuts compared to the amount of free advertisement for Hot Doug's.
