Human life not disposable
The point of reference that Jean Fernandes took on abortion in her recent letter was that of a male-female perspective, while she implies that the object of abortion is just another commodity which can be disposed of.
A commodity such as a worn out pair of shoes, overripe bananas or rancid meat, no matter what amount of care or nourishment, cannot be returned to a proper condition and, therefore, can be disposed of.
However, Ms. Fernandes fails to acknowledge that with care and nourishment, the object of her abortion position possesses the qualities of becoming a living, breathing human being, with a heart, mind, emotions and soul, just like herself.
Hardly a disposable commodity, wouldn't you say?
