Clean up those goose droppings

Recently, we had a family get together. Since we live only two blocks from Lake Arlington, some of the grandchildren decided to go sailing and paddle boating on Lake Arlington.

The rest of us took the younger children with pails and shovels and headed for the "sandy beach and play area." What we found on the shores of Lake Arlington was a lining of black duck and goose poop. It was, needless to say, disgusting, but, most importantly unsanitary and unhealthy.

We are not allowed to walk our dogs around Lake Arlington, but as we walk ourselves, we are dodging this bird poop. The beach area is designed to attract families with their children to play in the sand and on the park apparatus, but who wants their children to walk and play in this filth?

I realize it would be extremely difficult to keep ducks and geese out of this area, but considering the amount of taxes we pay here in Arlington Heights, I think it is not asking too much for this beach area to be kept clean or else it should not be used for a play area for children.
