Arlington Heights

•Vandals scratched the hood on a 2006 Cadillac CTS between 10 p.m. Sept. 1 and 7 a.m. Sept. 2 parked in a condominium lot on the 1500 block of North Windsor Drive, police said. A damage estimate was not available.

•Burglars cut a hole in a fence to gain entry to the Pace property, 550 W. Algonquin Road, cut chains and padlocks and stole two pipe threading machines between 1 p.m. Aug. 29 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 2 out of the building under construction, police said. According to reports, the burglars used a wheeled dolly to move the 100-pound machines, one taken from the first floor and the other from the second floor. Total value was estimated at $8,000.

Wheeling

• Vandals removed the front panels on two junction boxes and cut the wires inside on an unknown date but reported Sept. 3 at an apartment complex pool on the 1400 block of Sandpebble Drive, police said. Damage was estimated at $300.

Mount Prospect

• Burglars stole a women's black 18-speed bicycle with hand brakes, front shocks, brackets on the handle bar for a basket, a black pouch with the word "bell" under the seat, a gray child seat in the back of the bike and a U-shaped lock attached to the frame out of the garage at a home on the 900 block of South I-Oka, police said. Value was estimated at $169.

•Burglars stole a wallet between 10 p.m. Sept. 2 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 3 out of an unlocked 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander parked in an open garage at a home on the 600 block of East Shabonee, police said. Value was estimated at $45.

Des Plaines

•Thieves pried a desk drawer and stole $250 between 5 p.m. Sept. 2 and 11:30 a.m. Sept. 3 out of a cash box in a store at 1585 Ellinwood St., Suite 101, police said. Damage was estimated at $50.

•Thieves stole a girl's hot pink, blue and white mountain bike and a boys blue, black and white mountain bike between 7 p.m. Sept. 2 and 3 p.m. Sept. 3 out of the backyard at a home on the 1600 block of Orchard Street, police said. Both bikes were unlocked and the total value was estimated at $200.
