Child Safety Day: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, Round Lake Beach branch of Great Lakes Credit Union, 2135 N. Route 83. Lessons on child safety will be provided and police officers will take fingerprints. Take home kits will be available. Parents can use the kits to register their child's personal and medical information. Include a recent photo, print each fingerprint on an ink strip and then keep the record in a safe place for reference. Call (847) 578-8869.
Pet Food Drive: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, Pet Supplies Plus, 2982 W Route 60, Mundelein. Our House of Hope K-9 Rescue Kids for Kritters Klub will hold the Mother Hubbard's Cupboard Pet Food Drive to collect kibble dog food, canned and kibble cat food, cat litter and dog/cat treats to distribute to local food pantries.
