Itasca woman died after hitting lightpole at O'Hare

An Itasca woman was killed Monday night after running into a lightpole near O'Hare International Airport, Cook County medical examiner officials said Tuesday morning.

Young Ji, 52, from Itasca, was driving a 2006 Chrysler van when she lost control of the vehicle on the 10000 block of O'Hare Drive in Chicago and hit the pole, officials said.

An autopsy completed Tuesday showed Ji died of multiple injuries, said David Foley, executive director of the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

"She exited the car grasping at her chest and collapsed," Foley said.

She was taken from the scene of the accident to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where she was pronounced dead at 7:57 p.m.

The accident remains under investigation by Chicago police.
