Man charged with cyber stalking
Thomas Brodnicki, 43, formerly of Des Plaines, remained silent Friday in response to a grand jury indictment on two counts of cyper stalking.
Prosecutors say Brodnicki sent threatening e-mails in late June to a woman he met in 2000 when she was an 18-year-old convenience store clerk.
He has pursued her off and on ever since, at one point showing up at her Iowa college where police arrested him on three counts of harassment. Brodnicki, who was also accused of stalking another woman in 2003, has had several stints in the Elgin Mental Health Center.
He is being held without bail in the Cook County Jail. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison. His next court date is Sept. 2.
