Marine from N. Illinois killed in Iraq

CHERRY VALLEY _ The Department of Defense says a Marine from northern Illinois has been killed while serving in Iraq.

Twenty-one-year-old Corporal Adam T. McKiski of Cherry Valley died last Thursday along with 25-year-old Stewart S. Trejo of Montana. The DOD says they died in combat in Anbar province.

The DOD also said Tuesday that McKiski and Trejo were assigned to the 1st Maintenance Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton, California.

McKiski is the second casualty from the Rockford area in Iraq in less than three months.

Twenty-four-year-old Sergeant Blake Evans was killed in May by an improvised explosive device while he was on patrol.
