Tell Congressmen to drill in the U.S.

It is inexcusable that Congress adjourned without voting on any kind of energy bill, while millions of Americans continue to suffer from the high cost of fuel! The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, continues to block all legislation that includes any consideration or provision for offshore drilling. Incredible!

The American people are paying record prices for gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and aviation fuel. In turn, expensive fuel leads to higher prices for all goods and services. Americans are tired of these prices and are calling on Congress to finally take action that will further the drop in fuel prices.

We can no longer rely on OPEC nations to supply us with our oil. Prices will only continue to climb and our national security will remain threatened. It is time to take immediate action and begin tapping into the plentiful resources our own domestic resources provide.

With nearly 2 trillion barrels of oil (three times the proven reserves of Saudi Arabia) available to drill in an environmentally safe manner off our coasts and in parts of Alaska and Colorado, American Solutions continues our "Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less" campaign, which has delivered over 1.3 million signatures to Congress. And the list continues to grow.

We hope that all Americans will join American Solutions as we pressure Congress to enact legislation that will make it legal to explore domestic drilling possibilities and other alternative energies that will lead to lower prices at the pump and decreased dependence on oil from the Middle East. We encourage you to take action by calling and writing your representative and senators. Tell them you support American Solutions.com's "Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less." campaign.

They're beginning to get the message as more than 20 congressmen, both Republican and Democrat, in a bipartisan effort have written the "National Conservation, Environment and Energy Independence Act" (HR 6709). Ten senators, five Democrats and five Republican, are also collaborating on the "Energy Reform Act of 2008."

With your help, and the help of our families, friends and colleagues, we can ensure Congress will finally take the steps toward energy independence that Americans want.
