Prosecutors want more DNA from suspected murderer

Prosecutors have asked a Kane County judge for more DNA samples from a former Union Pacific train conductor who is charged with the 1981 murder of a neighbor.

On Friday, Kane County Circuit Judge Grant Wegner ordered 46-year-old Larry Galloway of Aurora to provide blood, hair, saliva and other DNA for testing. Galloway is free on $25,000 bail after he was arrested July 31st and charged with killing Cheryl Lynn Hall in 1981.

It was DNA evidence that led police to arrest Galloway. DNA samples were obtained from utensils he used while dining at a restaurant.

Galloway's attorney did not oppose the prosecutor's request, asking only for more time before samples are taken. Judge Wegner ordered the samples be taken within two weeks.
