How can politicians take vacation now?
Out country is facing critical issues and our state and federal legislatures, in reality our employees, go on vacation without passing any significant legislation.
If in business we employed individuals who left on vacation under such circumstances, we would tell them not to come back and to seek other employment.
We need comprehensive energy plans and our federal legislative leaders hold press conferences in gas stations condemning Republicans, the oil companies and gas guzzling vehicles for our crises.
Not one piece of energy legislation was passed.
Rep. John Shimkus (R-Collinsville) did have a resolution passed making June 30th National Corvette Day, I guess in honor of gas guzzlers.
Congress passed 260 meaningless laws, 74 of which were renaming post offices and the rest earmarks.
Our state legislature was just as bad it did nothing other then give a raise to elected and salutatory office holders and ensured that earmark bills got passed on to supporters, then adjourned with out approving a budget.
The governor vetoed adjustments to his budget but failed to veto the raises for him and the other incompetent incumbents.
Our roads are crumbling; education systems in a shambles and taxes are outlandish.
This is what we pay big bucks for. We don't need this caliber of employee.
