Chivas USA at Fire

Chivas USA at Fire

When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Toyota Park

TV: Channel 50

Scouting the Fire: With Cuauhtémoc Blanco, the Fire (7-5-5, 25 points) went scoreless in its last two MLS games. Without Blanco, it scored twice Wednesday against the EPL's Everton. Blanco will miss this game after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season last week. So what does it mean for tonight's game? "It's just important for us to score given that we haven't scored in a few games," Fire coach Denis Hamlett said with a frustrated laugh after beating Everton.

Scouting Chivas USA: It won't be easy for Chivas (6-6-4, 22 points) to escape mediocrity this week, with several players missing. Sacha Kljestan is on the Olympic team, midfielder Jorge Flores is with the U-20 team, and eight players are listed on the injured list. Even Chivas coach Preki will miss the game due to a suspension. Former Fire players Ante Razov, Jim Curtin and Jesse Marsch must carry the load.

Next game: at New England Revolution, Aug. 9.
