Algonquin
• A woman was arrested at 3:45 a.m. Friday on charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer, speeding and improper lane usage, police said. Jill E. Davis, 34, of 1385 Darling Court, was arrested on her block. She posted $100 and was released. Her court date is scheduled for Sept. 3 in Woodstock.
Elgin
•A teen was arrested at 12:15 a.m. Friday on charges he had 55.5 grams of marijuana, police said. Shawn Palmer, 17, of 3710 Chadwick Lane, Lake in the Hills, was charged with possession of marijuana over 30 grams, police said. Palmer, a senior at Huntley High School, began crying in court Friday after he was told a parent or guardian would have to come to the Elgin lockup to pick him up. He was released pending an Aug. 12 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A West Dundee man was accused of shoplifting $515.76 worth of baby formula from Target store, 300 S. Randall Road, on Sunday and Tuesday. Surveillance tapes showed Tomasz Haznar, 41, of 312 Geneva St., placing the baby formula in grocery carts and leaving the store on both days without paying for it, a report said. Haznar was charged with two counts of felony retail theft, police said. He was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by South Elgin police. He was unable to post a $5,000 bond on his latest charges and was taken to the Kane County jail Friday morning. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 11 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A blue Dodge Neon was reported stolen from a parking lot on the 1100 block of Royal Boulevard at 10 p.m. Thursday. A spare set of keys to the car was taken from a drawer in the owner's home, a report said.
• A yellow 1991 Acura Integra was stolen late Wednesday or early Thursday from the 1000 block of Ridgeway Court. The car was locked, police said.
