Car hits pedestrian in Rolling Meadows

A pedestrian was injured this afternoon after being struck by a vehicle near Golf and Algonquin roads in Rolling Meadows, police said.

The accident happened around 1 p.m. The man who was struck was conscious and alert but complained of pain in his head and leg, said Rolling Meadows police Sgt. Tony Gaspari. Arlington Heights paramedics took the man to Northwest Community Hospital.

Some lanes were closed after the incident but all lanes are now open, Gaspari said.

No charges were filed or tickets issued as of early afternoon; nor were details immediately available on how the accident happened.
