Huntley gets ComEd extension:
Huntley has been given more time to object to a July 11 ruling supporting ComEd's plans to build new transmission lines along Kreutzer Road. The village now has until Aug. 8 to file an objection, Assistant Village Manager Dave Johnson said. The village will also file a brief opposing ComEd's route and supporting an alternate route along Galligan and Freeman roads in Gilberts, Johnson said. The July 11 ruling won't be final until the Illinois Commerce Commission issues a final decision, which could come as soon as this month. ComEd will spend an estimated $40 million to build the transmission lines, which ComEd officials say will improve the reliability and capacity of its grid in the Northwest suburbs.
