Puppies are front-page news?

With thousands of people displaced in Georgia, the relationship of the US with Russia in the balance, Russia running wild in a sovereign democracy loyal to the US, the Daily Herald of Aug. 15 featured a story on the life and times of an overwhelmed mother dog on the front page with FIVE colored pictures dedicated to the story. Not a word of the trials of the tragedy unfolding in Georgia was mentioned on the front page.

Although I'm usually an avid fan of the Daily Herald, I'd say that the newspaper went to the dogs figuratively and literally Aug 15. How embarrassing!
