Northwest Community Hospital outstanding
Recently I spent seven days in Northwest Community Hospital, including several days in ICU. As I became aware of my surroundings, I felt more and more overwhelmed by the extraordinary care provided to me and other patients by doctors, technicians, dietitians, nurses, aides, cleaning crews and volunteers. Not only are doctors and staff extraordinarily skilled and knowledgeable; they are also dedicated to helping patients return to good health. Even difficult behaviors were dealt with very kindly and compassionately.
Further, one hears much, far too much about foreigners coming here and not learning our language. In seven days' time I met four nurses who came to America 15 years ago, not speaking English, three from Russia, one from Poland. Today, not only do they speak English fluently, they also attended college to become successful nurses. Today they provide loving care at Northwest Community Hospital.
I feel particularly indebted to and grateful to pulmonary specialist Dr. George Cromydas whose swift, clear, right-on-target thinking and decision-making once again helped save my life.
Can one ever thank doctors and staff sufficiently? I don't know, but I must say thank you from the bottom of my heart!
The community is blessed to have such an outstanding hospital and staff as a vital part of the community.
