'Now Generation' is all wrong on oil

I read the Dan Seals endorsement letter from the "Now Generation" advocate for public policy.

The writer suggests we should utilize our Strategic Oil Reserve to reduce gas prices 24 cents a gallon "now."

Of course, when the reserve runs dry, the price goes right back up, and guess what, we have no more reserve. If a calamity hits the Middle East, we are up the creek.

I am not enamored with Mark Kirk or John McCain, but at least they will not endanger our national security with a quick fix like too many "Now Generation" Democrats.

The Democrats seek immediate gratification on many issues, but they lack any strategic planning in their efforts to con uninformed voters.

When our existing oil reserves dry up in 10 years or so, what will Dan Seals and Barack Obama say then? Just inflate your tires with more hot air.

The other Democratic strategy is to tax the oil companies, not allow more domestic drilling (to allegedly enrich the evil oil companies) and forbid Yucca Mountain from being a nuclear waste dump.

Question for the Democrats? How come the evil oil companies are now buying 75 percent foreign oil and having record profits? If they have to spend billions to find and produce American oil, will they really make more profits? I doubt it.

Also they will pay the royalties to the U.S. Treasury and the states, not the Saudis, Iran and Venezuela.

It is amazing how shortsighted the now generation is.
