Drowning ruled cause of death of man found in river

The man found this week in the Fox River in Aurora drowned, preliminary autopsy results concluded.

Toxicology samples have been sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis, Kane County Coroner's officials said.

Nicholas J. Clark, 50, of Aurora was found floating about 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The body was found along a maintenance gangway that runs between a floating barge and the casino pavilion.

Aurora police said the body appeared to have been in the water for at least several days.
