Briefs: Developer to resume work
Des Plaines Mayor Tony Arredia said a condo developer on Thursday assured him that construction on the downtown building will resume in the next few weeks. Arredia met with the developer, Dr. Rashmi Patel, amid concerns of a foreclosure lawsuit involving the project at 595 S. River Road. During the 30-minute meeting at city hall, Patel said he had abandoned his plans to go rental, and that he had found another way to settle the foreclosure lawsuit, Arredia said. But the mayor declined to go into details. Patel couldn't be reached for comment on Friday.
