Arlington Heights
• A male passenger in a Nissan Sentra pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at a 21-year-old man around 1:10 p.m. Aug. 19 as he stood in his driveway on the 0-100 block of East Brittany, police said. According to reports, the car drove past, backed up and the male driver and passenger shouted at the man before the passenger pointed the gun.
• Two men, one with orange hair on his head and face, and the second with long wavy black hair, burglarized a condominium on the 2400 block of South Goebbert Road around 12:55 a.m. Aug. 19, police said. According to reports, a 41-year-old male neighbor heard laughter in the courtyard, looked out his window and saw one of the men cut a bedroom window screen, climb inside, and leave with what appeared to be a white laptop computer. The witness chased the two men and confronted them about the burglary, reports added. Neither man was carrying the laptop; they said they did not steal anything and then ran away, reports added. The owner of the condominium did not hear the burglary and was not sure if there was a laptop computer missing from her daughter's bedroom, reports said.
• Burglars stole 15 CDs and the driver's-side visor between 1:30 and 7:22 p.m. Aug. 19 out of a 2003 Honda CR-V parked at a home on the 1400 block of West Shure Drive, police said. There was no sign of forced entry, reports added. A value estimate was not available.
• Burglars smashed the front driver's-side window between 6:30 a.m. Aug. 18 and 7:45 a.m. Aug. 19 on a 2002 Ford Windstar parked in a condominium lot on the 2400 block of South Goebbert Road, police said. Nothing appeared to be missing; the burglars may have been looking for a GPS unit because the holder was visible on the windshield but the GPS was not in the van, reports added. A damage estimate was not available.
Rolling Meadows
• Someone removed the front wheel and tire, valued at $250, from a vehicle in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Algonquin Parkway between 11 p.m. Aug. 7 and 9 a.m. Aug. 8.
• Someone stole a Nintendo Wii game system with two controllers, valued at $500, and a cell phone valued at $350 from the back seat of a 2006 blue Ford Expedition parked in a driveway in the 100 block of Farmington Court between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 11 and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 12.
• A GPS unit valued at $199 was stolen from an unlocked Jeep SUV that was parked in a driveway in the 2500 block of Fulle Street between 5:45 and 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 13.
• Sergy V. Kostichev, 53, 1251 American Lane No. 331, Schaumburg, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 9 and charged with retail theft, according to police reports. He is accused of taking batteries, two camera bags and an adapter plug under $300 from Walmart, 1460 Golf Road. He has court on Sept. 18.
• A resident in the 4400 block of Sycamore Lane reported that between 11:50 p.m. Aug. 11 and 4 a.m. Aug. 12 someone cut a window screen and entered his residence, taking about $20 from his wallet, leaving it behind near the cut screen window.
• The theft of a Roadmaster bicycle from the back yard of a residence in the 2600 block of Wilke Road was reported to have taken place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 13, police reports said.
• Someone smashed the passenger's-side window of a 2005 Toyota Corolla between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 15 in the 5400 block of Astor Lane, causing $350 in damages.
Streamwood
• Vandals spray painted gang graffiti Aug. 15 on an exterior wall at a business at 1032 E. Schaumburg Road, police said. A damage estimate was not available.
•Fatmir Sajdini, 26, 305 Meyer Court, Streamwood, was arrested around 7:10 p.m. Aug. 15 and charged with aggravated assault after a traffic stop at Barrington Road and Boardwalk Boulevard, police said. According to reports, he repeatedly banged his head on the partition in the squad car and was treated at Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. While there, he threatened a paramedic by swinging his fist at his face, reports added. A court date was not available.
• Eric R. Grens, 18, 5 Blackberry Court, Streamwood, and Cole L. Love, 18, 80 W. Magnolia Drive, Streamwood, were arrested around 12:10 a.m. Aug. 16 and charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after an officer saw them running from the west side of Sunnydale Boulevard and discovered that they had been drinking alcohol, police said. Grens also was charged with possession of marijuana after the officer found the drug in his pocket, reports added. Their Rolling Meadows court date was set for Sept. 16.
• Burglars stole rings, tools and toolbox, and disc player between 6 and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 16 out of an unlocked home on the 600 block of Krause Avenue, police said. Value was estimated at $3,000.
• James S. Kuntz, 29, 117 S. Bartlett Road, Streamwood, was arrested around 7:40 p.m. Aug. 17 and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon after he threatened a woman with a tire iron during a traffic altercation at Irving Park and Bartlett roads, police said. His Rolling Meadows court date was set for Sept. 10.
Hanover Park
•Marcos Mercado-Rojas, 19, 24 Emerald Drive, Streamwood, was arrested around 1 a.m. Aug. 18 and charged with possession of marijuana at Church Street and Evergreen Avenue, police said. A court date was not available.
• Calvin K. Odisho, 41, 290 Wayne Court, Bartlett, was arrested around 9:50 p.m. Aug. 17 and charged with possession of a controlled substance on the 1500 block of Lake Street, police said. A court date was not available.
• Antonio Delgadillo, 19, 1423 10th, Belvidere, was arrested around 5:10 p.m. Aug. 16 and charged with possession of marijuana on the 6600 block of Barrington Road, police said. A court date was not available.
Bartlett
• Anthony J. Karling, 18, 2121 Sycamore Ave., Hanover Park, was arrested around 12:55 a.m. Aug. 13 at 228 S. Main St., and charged with telephone harassment, police said. His Wheaton court date was set for Sept. 9.
• Lance N. Johnson, 19, 424 Harbor Terrace, Bartlett, Amanda M. Makowski, 18, 5332 Garbo Lane, Hanover Park, and Miguel A. Alvarado, 19, 1473 Walnut Circle, Carol Stream, were arrested around 3:20 a.m. Aug. 4 on the 900 block of Tallgrass Drive and charged with burglary to motor vehicle, police said. A court date was not available.
• Brian P. Holman, 20, 1659 Liberty St., Hanover Park, was arrested around 12:55 a.m. Aug. 16 and charged with local ordinance illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at Stearns Road and Cottonwood Lane, police said. His Rolling Meadows court date was set for Oct. 1.
• Amanda S. McKay, 20, 6 Bardsey Drive, Schaumburg, was arrested around 1:05 a.m. Aug. 16 and charged with local ordinance illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at Oneida Avenue and Rita Court, police said. Her Rolling Meadows court date was set for Sept. 12.
• Kevin A. Devine, 18, 1129 Sausalito Court, Bartlett, was arrested around 3:45 a.m. Aug. 16 and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor after a traffic stop at Sausalito Court and Harbor Terrace, police said. His Wheaton court date was set for Sept. 2.
• Vandals turned on an outdoor faucet attached to a garden hose, put the nozzle in a window well, and flooded the basement with 3-4 feet of water Aug. 14 at a home on Morning Glory Lane, police said. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
• Matthew J. Trillet, 17, 5505 Garrison Court, Johnston, Iowa, and a 16-year-old girl were arrested around 11:10 p.m. Aug. 12 on the 700 block of South Bartlett Road, police said. Trillet was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and his Wheaton court date was set for Sept. 6, reports said. The girl was charged with local ordinances loitering for the purpose of engaging in drug activity and curfew violation, and her Rolling Meadows court date was set for Aug. 28, reports added.
Barrington
• Vandals put an 8-inch scratch on the trunk lid of a 2008 Lexus parked in a store lot at 150 W. Main St., police said. A damage estimate was not available.
• Vandals damaged a light post Aug. 17 on the 400 block of Tower Road, police said. A damage estimate was not available.
Palatine
• Burglars stole eight packs of cigarettes and an MP3 player between 8 p.m. Aug. 18 and noon Aug. 19 out of an unlocked 2009 Nissan Maxima parked in an apartment lot on the 100 block of Sterling Avenue, police said. Total value was estimated at $200.
• Burglars ransacked the glove box and center console between 6 p.m. Aug. 18 and 6:50 a.m. Aug 19 but nothing was missing out of a 2001 Chevrolet Camaro parked on the 1100 block of North Sterling Avenue, police said. A damage estimate was not available. During the same time and on the same block, burglars stole an MP3 player and 30 checks out of a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, reports added. There was no sign of forced entry; value was estimated at $250.
Wheeling
• Vandals used brown paint to spray graffiti on two walls and a large rock between 5 p.m. Aug. 15 and 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at the pumping station in Husky Park, 1 Lee St., police said. Damage was estimated at $100.
• Vandals pried and scratched but could not remove the four wheels on a 2006 Dodge Charger between Aug. 15 and 18 on the 100 block of South Wheeling Avenue, police said. Damage was estimated at $100.
• Thieves stole two unlocked boys BMX bicycles, one silver and one black, between 4 p.m. Aug. 9 and 9 a.m. Aug. 10 out of the backyard at a home on the 300 block of Fletcher Drive, police said. Total value was estimated at $185.
• Jose I. Montesinos, 24, 93 George Drive, Wheeling, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at Sixth Street and Wolf Road, police said. His Rolling Meadows court date was set for Oct. 1.
• Bruno B. Lasko, 22, 544 Pleasant Run Drive, Apt. F, Wheeling, was arrested around 4 p.m. Aug. 19 and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at Dundee Road and Northgate Parkway, police said. His Rolling Meadows court date was set for Sept. 26.
• A thief pried open and scratched the gas tank door and siphoned 2 gallons of gas between 1 p.m. Aug. 18 and 9 a.m. Aug. 19 out of a 2004 Toyota Corolla parked in an apartment lot on the 400 block of Plum Creek Drive, police said. Damage and value were estimated at $108.
• Natividad Ricardo-Najera, 40, 203 W. Maple Ave., Mundelein, was arrested around 11:55 p.m. Aug. 17 and charged with endangering the life/health of a child, three counts aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving while license revoked, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle after a head-on crash on Wheeling Road north of Town Street, police said. According to reports, Ricardo-Najera's 1993 Mercury Voyager was traveling north on Wheeling Road and swerved into the southbound lane, hitting a 2001 Chrysler Voyager. Ricardo-Najera's three sons, 12, 8, and 7, and his wife, 31, were treated for cuts and abrasions at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights; the 54-year-old male driver of the Chrysler was treated for a broken left arm. A Rolling Meadows court date was set for Sept. 12.
Schaumburg
• Andres Reyna, 24, 1633 Celebrity Circle, Hanover Park, was arrested around 10:05 a.m. Aug. 17 and charged with retail theft after a security agent for Kohl's, 171 N. Barrington Road, saw him take merchandise and leave without paying, police said. His Rolling Meadows court date was set for Oct. 1.
• Dorothy Sophia Pola, 42, 8923 N. Knight, Des Plaines, was arrested around 6:20 p.m. Aug. 16 and charged with retail theft after a security agent for JCPenney in Woodfield mall saw her take merchandise and leave without paying, police said. Her Rolling Meadows court date was set for Sept. 11.
• Austin T. Wright, 18, 1357 Grantham Drive, Schaumburg, and two 16-year-old boys were arrested around 1:35 a.m. Aug. 14 after a witness saw them inside an unlocked 2007 Toyota Scion parked on the 100 block of Corsaire Lane; they fled and climbed into a Chevrolet Suburban police said. An officer saw them get into the SUV and followed them to a store parking lot at Thacker and National Parkway, where one of them tossed a stolen GPS unit with mounting bracket and charger cord out of a window, reports added. Officers found an MP3 player and headphones stolen from the Toyota inside the SUV, reports said. Wright was charged with criminal trespass to vehicle and his Rolling Meadows court date was set for Oct. 1. Court dates for the teenage boys were not available.
