Naperville middle school student arrested

A Washington Junior High School student was arrested Monday afternoon after an incident with an administrator at the Naperville school.

Police responded to a call at 1:23 p.m. to assist with a student who had become out of control during a disciplinary proceeding, according to Cmdr. Dave Hoffman. The 13-year-old female committed aggravated battery against the administrator, an assault and damaged a picture in the upstairs conference room where the incident occurred, Hoffman said.

The student was arrested and the case likely will be handled in juvenile court. The school administrator sustained minor injuries.

In an e-mail to Naperville Unit District 203 families, Principal Bob Ross said no other students were in danger and the school also will take disciplinary action.
