McHenry marijuana farm found, destroyed

The McHenry County sheriff's office on Thursday found and eradicated about 4,000 cannabis plants growing near Harvard, police said. The estimated street value was $4 million.

The field had been recently tended to and was in preparation of being harvested. Two tents and other items indicated that people had been in the area recently.

Police said the plants were in healthy condition and appeared to be budding. It was the fourth such eradication to take place in McHenry County since July 30, police said.

No arrests have been made.
