Semi, two cars in crash on Edens

Police and rescue crews were on the scene of an accident on the Edens Expressway near Tower Road early Wednesday.

Illinois state police officials said a semi-truck and two cars were pushed into the ditch off I-94. However, there were no injuries in the accident.

Officials said the semi-truck also took out 60-feet of fence along the road way, and the truck was leaking some diesel fuel at the scene. The diesel was cleaned up.

The roadway has been reopened. Traffic was backed up along the Edens for a couple of hours.
