Mundelein man arrested in stabbing

A Mundelein man was jailed on $100,000 bond in connection with an incident early Saturday in which another man was stabbed twice.

Police said Roberto Campos Morales, 22, of 206 Dalton Ave., was with other friends drinking at an apartment in Libertyville about 4 a.m. when he took exception to some remarks. According to police, Morales stabbed Jesus Martinez, 26, of 131 W. Ellis Ave., in the stomach and ribs and then left.

Occupants of the apartment called authorities. Morales was arrested at his Mundelein home and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Martinez was listed in good condition Monday at Condell Medical Center.
