Where does Seal stand on Israel?

I've heard arguments from both sides on whether Dan Seals is fit to be a congressman, especially when it comes to Israel.

But instead of listening to the campaigns, I recommend taking a cue from former White House Jewish liaison Jay Footlik who ran against Seals in the Democratic primary this year.

During a joint appearance before the Tribune on December 27, Footlik said:

"We disagree also as it relates to a comment that my primary opponent made last time. He was asked in a conflict between Iran and Israel where he would come down. He said it was a false choice; he'd come down on the side of peace. I would clearly come down on the side of our allies - one of our strongest allies in the region - one of our most important strategic relationships."

When Footlik was asked if he thought Seals was untrustworthy on Israel's security, Footlik replied:

"Well if [Seals] is not willing to come out forcefully and oppose Iran - and I don't know that he is not willing to do that, but certainly his statement saying that he would come down on the side of peace suggests to me that he may not know what to do."

Anyone who cares for Israel has an easy choice in this upcoming election: Congressman Mark Kirk, a proven pro-Israel champion and moderate, independent voice in Congress.
