Greenberg better understands us

On July 8, 2008, I attended a town hall in Gurnee with 8th Congressional District candidate Steve Greenberg. Mr. Greenberg discussed his comprehensive energy policy based on the simple principle that increased supply with less demand results in lower prices. Mr. Greenberg's plan puts every option on the table and lets the free market pick the winners.

More drilling and expanded refinery capacity increases our oil supply; alternative sources like nuclear, wind, solar and natural gas increase energy supply and reduce oil demand; and new technologies like clean coal, biofuels, oil shale, hydrogen fuel cells and others further reduce demand for oil; all resulting in lower fuel prices for us.

Contrast the Greenberg plan with our current representative, Melissa Bean, who supports the Nancy Pelosi agenda that will only serve to increase prices by restricting supply and discouraging the free market. Ms. Bean does not understand economics or the struggles of her constituents.

I'm voting for Steve Greenberg this year because I want a representative that will fight for me and not for Washington politics.
