Craft vendors wanted in Grayslake

The Grayslake Park District is looking for craft vendors for a fall craft fair. For information, contact Shelly Regnier at the Grayslake Park District Office, at (847) 223-7529.

Volo malls Sponsor fundraiser raffle

The malls at Volo Country Village are sponsoring a raffle to raise money for Breast Cancer Network of Strength, which provides emotional relief to anyone affected by breast cancer.

The Antique Malls are raffling a circa 1880 mahogany Empire sideboard valued at $500 and a Weller Breton vase from the late 1920s valued at $165. The Mercantile Mall is raffling a Round Cherry Curio Cabinet valued at $449 and a new "Tiffany Style" Iris Lamp valued at $100.

Entries are $1 each for each item. The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 6. Official Rules are at cashier counters of Antique Mall 2 and the Mercantile Mall. The prizes can be seen in person at the malls or online at www.voloshopping.com. Volo Country Village is located on Volo Village Road, near the junctions of Routes 12/59 and 120, in Volo.

SRACLC registration deadline approaching

The Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County's fall registration deadline is 1 p.m. Aug. 29. SRACLC provides special events, weekly programs and Special Olympics sports for people with special needs. SRACLC will also offer mini camps around the holidays for children and teens. Campers win at dodgeball tourney

On July 18, Gurnee Park District Teen Camp participated in the annual National Amateur Dodgeball Association Outdoor National Championships Youth and High School Tournament. The tournament drew around 75 teams. GPD campers Hailey Leinart, Shannon McCormick, Jeanette Chang, Sara Nunez, Tia Bakakos, Mia Sinclair, Mady Yarc and Emily Hughes triumphed over 12 teams in the seventh- and eighth-grade girls' bracket.
