Woman reportedly stole $18,000 from Algonquin Burger King
McHenry County authorities have released a Marengo woman on $40,000 bond after being charged with theft over $10,000 and forgery for allegedly stealing more than $18,000 from the Algonquin Burger King.
According to a criminal complaint, 46-year-old Cynthia Sieben allegedly took $18,747 from her former employer between March 2007 and November 2007. She also allegedly forged a check for $466.96.
Both crimes are Class 2 felonies, punishable by between 3 and 7 years in prison if she is convicted.
Seiben was appointed a public defender before she was released on bond Friday.
