Campaign ad shows McCain no maverick

So John McCain is "proud" of his campaign ad linking his Senate colleague Barack Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, stating that it has "substance" and addresses the "issues [of] the American people." I suspect he is also proud that among his major financial supporters are the bankrollers of the Swift Boat smear ad campaign against fellow senator and Vietnam combat hero John Kerry in 2004. Reputed "maverick" and "independent" McCain, who, in reality is in line with the Bush administration 95 percent of the time, has sold his political soul and surrendered to the Bush-Cheney-Rove-say-and-do-anything-to-get-elected axis.
