Are these models for our health care?
So you want the Democrats to give us a government-run health care system. OK!
Guess what, the Canadian system we all love and admire lies in ruins according to the man who designed it.
After four decades, Claude Castonguay, known as "the father of Quebec Medicare," headed up a government committee on health care reform and is recommending private alternatives. Oh, My!
In England, another of our favorite government-run health care systems, the courts have ruled that they have unfairly refused to give anti-dementia drugs to Alzheimers patients. The government thought they were too expensive.
They, the Brits, have an agency that determine which treatments get covered by the British Health Care System.
And guess what, some really forward thinking members of Congress want us to form a similar agency. Won't that be great?
