Couple to give away home in essay contest

DANVILLE -- A 3,400-square-foot house in eastern Illinois could be all yours for the unbelievable price of 500 words or less.

Debbie Yacoubian and Rafael Morrero are holding an essay contest and the grand prize is their 1927 two-story house in Danville.

The Florida couple has been unable to sell the house for the past two years.

Yacoubian says they wanted to try something different and hope it's beneficial for the neighborhood.

According to the rules, the essay can be on any topic and should "wow the judges."

The contest has a $100 entry fee and the deadline is September 20th.

The winner of the competition won't have to pay any fees associated with the closing, but will be responsible for property taxes and insurance.
