Police beat: Man accused of sexual assault

Carpentersville

•A Carpentersville man was accused Wednesday of sexually assaulting a woman in July, police said. Enrique Rodriguez-Machado, 20, of 710 Jackson St., was charged with criminal sexual assault, police said. The 19-year-old victim said she had been drinking with Rodriguez-Machado about 11 p.m. July 29 when he pushed her against a car and sexually attacked her, police said. Rodriguez-Machado was being held in the Kane County jail on $10,000 bond with an Aug. 31 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

•The 12-year-old boy who stole a classic 1957 Ford Fairlane convertible from a home on the 800 block of Navajo Lane about 4 p.m. Wednesday has been charged with four additional burglaries in the Keele Farms subdivision, in addition to vehicle theft, police said Thursday. The boy drove off in the car, led police on a brief chase and crashed it into a telephone pole about three blocks away. The boy is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing at the Kane County Youth Home in St. Charles on Thursday.

East Dundee

•A Carpentersville man was accused of using fraudulent ID during a traffic stop at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Route 25 and Park Avenue, police said. Jose L. Rodriguez, 21, 961 Berkley St., charged with obstruction of justice and was cited for no valid driver's license, no insurance and no front registration plate, police said. He was unable to post a $3,500 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail to await an Aug. 31 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Elgin

•Two Elgin residents were arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop at 1:30 a.m. Thursday on the 1000 block of Dundee Avenue, police said. Sinthia M. Facio, 35, and Tarray L. Williams, 33, both of 626 Jefferson Ave., each were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after 1.1 grams of cocaine were found, police said. Williams is on parole for murder conviction and was being held in the Kane County jail, with a hold placed on him by the Illinois Department of Corrections, police said. Facio was released after she posted a $1,000 bond. Facio and Williams have court dates on Sept. 4 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

•An Elgin man pushing a 2006 dirt bike at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday on the 900 block of North State Street was accused of stealing it, police said. Timothy L. Osborne, 22, of 807 W. Goethe St., was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and attempted resistance of a police officer, police said. Osborne had previous convictions for burglary and auto theft, according to court records. He was unable to post an $8,000 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail. His court date is Aug. 31 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Wonder Lake

•Danny J. Row, 27, of Gilberts, was charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty, police said. Row left his dog in the car with the doors locked and its windows closed while the temperature outside was 92 degrees, police said. Officers responding to a call found the dog, an Australian shepherd mix, overheated in the hot car, but the dog survived.
