Summer Rec Picnic in Hanover Park

The Hanover Park Park District will host is second annual Summer Rec Picnic from 5 to 7 p.m. July 17 at Seafari Springs Aquatic Center, 1700 Greenbrook Blvd., Hanover Park.

There will be free hot dogs, chips and beverages. Kids can play games and make crafts with the staff. The event also includes a demonstration by the Hanover Park School of Dance.

Group to host walk in area savanna

Citizens for Conservation is giving area residents the opportunity to see Flint Creek Savanna in its full bloom.

The nature group is hosting a tour of the Savanna from 8 to 9 a.m. July 19. Those who attend will be able to check out the floating islands, while also seeing what types of plants and animals are making the Savanna home.

Binoculars are recommended. The tour will start at the Citizens for Conservation main office, 459 W. Hwy. 22, Lake Barrington. For details or to RSVP, call (847) 382-7283.

WINGS to sponsor its Day at the Races

From noon to 5 p.m. July 26, supporters, families and friends of WINGS are invited to Arlington Park Race Track for WINGS' fourth annual Day at the Races.

The day of live racing will commemorate the life of Cindy Bischof and provide support to WINGS to help assist women and children fleeing domestic violence.

Live racing, a lavish buffet, open bar, silent auction and raffle will complete the day.

Join Clearbrook for a Cubs game

Join Clearbrook Aug. 10 for its first-ever Wrigley Field rooftop outing.

Cheer the Cubs, from the Sheffield Baseball Club, 3619 N. Sheffield Ave., as they take on the St. Louis Cardinals.

This 9,000-square-foot, multilevel venue overlooks right field and offers exclusive upscale amenities.
