Three charged in electrocution death
Three Chicago men have been charged with first-degree murder in the electrocution of a 43-year-old man.
Police say Daniel McKenzie was either pushed or fell onto the tracks early Sunday during a fight with three men. McKenzie came into contact with the third rail along the CTA's Red Line when he tumbled from the subway platform.
Chicago police spokesman Officer John Mirabelli says McKenzie was initially taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Charged in connection with the man's death was 29-year-old Clint Johnson, his brother, 21-year-old Darnell Johnson, and 23-year-old Maurice Evans.
Police responded to a report of the altercation at the Roosevelt Road stop. Mirabelli said the suspects were arrested nearby and questioned.
