Police: Woman fled with drugs, thousands of dollars
An Elgin woman carrying Ectasy, cocaine and more than $35,000 in cash was arrested Sunday as she fled a home where gunshots had just been fired, police said Monday.
Elizabeth A. Campbell, 32, of 371 Silver St., was carrying 158 Ecstasy pills, 50 grams of cocaine, an unknown amount of marijuana and $35,600 in a backpack, police said.
Campbell was charged with class X possession of Ecstasy with intent to deliver, possession of 15 to 100 grams of cocaine and possession of marijuana, according to court records.
Two armed men had entered Campbell's home through front door and fired two or three shots, police said.
As Elgin officers arrived, they caught Campbell fleeing through the back door, police said.
Campbell's bond was of $30,000 recognizance was set by Associate Kane County Judge Allen Cargerman.
Under the terms of the bond, Campbell did not have to post any money.
Campbell's next court date is on July 9 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
