Grays Lake closed today

Grays Lake is scheduled to be treated today with Aquathol K herbicides to control the growth of aquatic plants. Swimming will be prohibited for one day; and fish from the lake cannot be caught to be eaten for a day. Water from the lake cannot be used as irrigation for a full seven days after the treatment.

These restrictions will be posted at places where the public can access the lake. However, weather and/or high water levels may cause marine biochemists to postpone the treatment, in which case they will notify the village of Grayslake and the Grayslake Park District.

For details, call Bob Lashbrook at the park district, (847) 223-7529.
