Body of missing suburban boy found
BEVERLY SHORES, Ind. -- The body of a 14-year-old Illinois boy who disappeared while swimming in strong currents at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore has been recovered.
State Conservation Officer Gene Davis says the body of DaVante Jackson of Chicago Heights was found floating in Lake Michigan on Wednesday.
The body was found by two DNR patrol boats about a quarter mile from Kemil Beach, where the boy disappeared on Sunday.
The crews were dispatched after officials received cell phone calls from people on the shore.
Jackson vanished while swimming with friends at the beach about 15 miles east of Gary, Indiana.
