What the celebrities are wearing, using

I once handed my hair stylist a picture of Reese Witherspoon and asked for the same haircut she had.

My stylist said OK, but warned, "I can make your hair look like Reese Witherspoon's, but you're not going to look like Reese Witherspoon."

Harsh. Funny. And above all, true.

That reality check is meant to serve as a disclaimer before you read what the celebrities are wearing and what products they're using. I, of course, covet all of it.

Eva Longoria has been photographed numerous times wearing a $132, 14-karat gold Teong Kay necklace that has both silver and gold rings on it. And Cameron Diaz, Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie have been carrying the Gerard Darel 24-hour Syracuse crochet bag, which looks good with everything from gym clothes to summer dresses. The bag is priced at $495. Both items are available at Rumor, a popular celebrity shopping spot, at shoprumor.com.

If you love Kate Hudson's hair, her longtime stylist David Babaii is launching an eco-friendly line of hair products. It doesn't have the catchiest name - the brand is called David Babaii for WildAid - but it does help a good cause. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to help the planet's endangered wildlife.

The products are priced between $11.95 and $14.95, and are available on HSN.com and db4WildAid.com. Later this summer, they'll be sold in local grocery and drug stores.

Shampoo refills

Bring your empty bottles of Tricoci shampoo and conditioner to any local Mario Tricoci Hair Salon & Day Spa and get a refill for 15 percent off the original price. It's part of the company's new Refill & Save Green program. The company estimates this could prevent the waste of 22 plastic bottles per person, per year.

Fun kid T-shirts

Not that most kids know (or care) what super delegates are, but with the conventions coming up, these timely jerseys will amuse politically aware adults. They come in pink or navy, and were designed by former executives from The Gap and Lucky Brand Jeans. ($38, at PeekArentYouCurious.com)

Proponents of truthiness will appreciate the Stephen Colbert onesie with matching adult T-shirt. It's a silver ink drawing of Colbert pointing straight ahead on a black T-shirt. ($48 for the set of two, babywit.com)
