Prochno, Naughton ran great health fair

Recently I volunteered at a Health Fair which was hosted by Elk Grove trustee and Republican nominee for state representative Christine Prochno and Claire Naughton, the Health and Wellness coordinator for the Elk Grove Park District.

The Health Fair was conducted as part of the Elk Grove Village Youth Committee and Park District's Summer Movie Night series and co-sponsored by the Lioness Club of Elk Grove and the Elk Grove Police Department.

Approximately 25 junior high and high school students learned more about nutrition, body fat and healthy lifestyle habits. The teens then made commitments about how they would begin living healthier and signed contracts with themselves.

I want to commend Christine Prochno and Claire Naughton for their hard work and their ability to get teens excited and interested in making healthy choices. As a longtime physical education teacher, Christine Prochno is passionate about health and will continue to lead the charge to improve health if elected as our state representative.
