Fire plays to 0-0 draw

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Jon Busch made 8 saves Sunday night to help the Chicago Fire preserve a scoreless draw with the Kansas City Wizards.

Busch and Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman each have 7 shutouts this season, tying them for the league lead with Nick Rimando of Real Salt Lake.

Hartman made 5 saves for Kansas City (5-5-7), which extended its unbeaten streak to six matches - 2 wins and 4 draws. The Fire (7-5-5) has not lost in five matches, with 2 wins and 3 draws.

The Wizards thought they had earned a penalty on John Thorrington's handball in the 74th minute. Referee Mark Geiger ruled that Thorrington was just outside the penalty area, however, and Davy Arnaud's free kick was cleared harmlessly.

The Fire's Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Diego Gutierrez will both be suspended for Saturday's game against Chivas USA for accumulating yellow cards.
