Jackson's campaign cash at $894,000
WASHINGTON -- For the November general election, seven-term Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. has an opponent that is much lesser known.
Even so, the Democratic incumbent's campaign fund has about $894,000 as of July First.
Meantime, his Republican rival in the Chicago-area district, Anthony Williams, has yet to file a report with federal authorities.
And that's not just for the second quarter, but the first quarter as well.
However that does not imply Williams has violated any laws. It could just mean he has yet to raise or even spend the $5,000 required before a candidate must file a federal campaign finance report.
