Elgin's Settler's Park opens July 16
Celebrate the opening of one of Elgin's newest parks from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16.
Neighbors in the Providence Subdivision and community residents are invited to a grand opening celebration at Settler's Park, at Sutton Road and Cranston Avenue on the city's west side. This three-acre park includes a playground, a picnic shelter, two tennis courts and a large sports field.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and will be followed by refreshments provided by Town and Country Builders. Neighbors are encouraged to participate in a variety of games in the park including Frisbee golf, bags and ladder toss.
