Game stores hold liquidation sales

CHICAGO - Gamer's Paradise, a specialty retailer founded in 1979 by local entrepreneur Philip Schwartzer, is liquidating approximately $1 million in games, toys and collectibles as part of a strategic consolidation that involves closing three of its six remaining stores. The ongoing sales at Gamer's Paradise at Water Tower Place in Chicago, Woodfield Shopping Center in Schaumburg and Yorktown Center in Lombard offer savings of up to 50 percent off on inventory that ranges from $5 Duncan Yo-Yos to carved chess sets retailing for $300. The sales will continue for the next two or three months.
