The Bloomingdale Park District named Carrie Ann Haupert, a certified park and recreation professional, its executive director. Haupert previously served as director of parks and recreation for the village of Hinsdale, a position she held since 2006. She replaces Steve Scholten, who was the executive director for more than 16 years.
Dr. Priya Priyadarshini of Aurora joined the department of infectious diseases at Dreyer Medical Clinic and is now seeing patients at the clinic's West Aurora location. Priyadarshini is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases and affiliated with Provena Mercy Medical Center and Rush-Copley Medical Center. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, The Infectious Disease Society of America and the American Medical Association.
The National Council of Jewish Women Chicago North Shore section announced the election of the following 2008-2009 board members: Dawn Brent of Skokie, president; Donna Fishman of Northbrook, vice president of community service; Susan Pristave of Highland Park, vice president of membership; Melissa Prober of Northbrook, vice president of programming; and Ilana Platt of Chicago, vice president of public affairs. Continuing as secretary is Marilyn Slutzky of Highland Park and continuing as treasurer is Stacy Saef of Glenview. Melanie Berkowitz of Northbrook will edit the monthly newsletter. Directors-at-large include Gayle Nelson-Bloomquist of Glenview; Karen Coplan of Highland Park; and Barbara Schwimmer of Deerfield. Bunny Oberlander of Northbrook will be the corresponding secretary and Jennifer Fisher of Glencoe will join the board as financial secretary. Judy Schwartz of Glencoe will be the board representative to Encore&More, the organization's retail shop in Wilmette.
Susan B. Kotecki, a staff nurse in neurosciences at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, was nominated by her peers to receive the third annual Dr. Tom Williams Spirit of Volunteerism Award. Kotecki, a 30-year veteran of Central DuPage Hospital, coordinated a stroke awareness day at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Geneva.
KJWW Engineering Consultants, Naperville, announced that Ryan Sprangers, project manager and lead mechanical engineer for many of the firms's education, commercial and government projects, achieved the status of licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin.
The National Association of Credit Management honored Carol Stream resident John Jaeger with the Certified Credit Executive Designation of Excellence Award. Jaeger is manager, credit and accounts receivables for Follett Higher Education Group in River Grove. He earned his Certified Credit Executive designation in 1999 and has been involved in the credit industry for over 28 years.
The Illinois Council on Long-Term Care and the Illinois Health-Care Association named Ilona Jarosz, a registered nurse at the Abbington Rehab and Nursing Center in Roselle, as a 2008 Hero in Long -Term Care.
With more than 30 years of professional experience in national property tax consulting and appraising, Lance K. Rickard has joined The B & D Equity Property Tax Group in Chicago as vice president.
The Illinois Funeral Directors Association honored Donald E. Laird of Elgin as a 50-year licensee of the funeral service industry at its June convention in Schaumburg. Laird was recognized for his contribution to funeral service and the Illinois community.
Lake Forest-based Career Resource Center Inc. hired Michael Tucker of Lake Forest as an adviser to work directly with individuals seeking employment, or who are dealing with employment transitions. Tucker formerly served as senior vice president of human resources and global communications for Baxter International Inc.
Nick Anderson, owner of Reality Fitness, Naperville, was named IDEA Health and Fitness Association International Personal Trainer of the Year. IDEA is an organization of fitness trade professionals. Anderson has been a personal trainer for 17 years.
