Round Lake Park raid nets 2 arrests
About a dozen Round Lake Park police officers raided a house and seized a man wanted on a parole violation and a woman suspected of marijuana possession.
Round Lake Park Police Chief George Filenko said the officers, acting on a tip, surveilled the home at 329 Forest Glen Drive before entering through an open door Wednesday. Filenko said cigars were being emptied of tobacco and refilled with marijuana when cops entered at 4:06 p.m.
Quentin J. Williams, 23, who may have been living in the house for several weeks, was captured by police on an Illinois Department of Corrections arrest warrant for a parole violation, Filenko said.
"He was classified as armed and dangerous," Filenko said Thursday.
State records show Williams was sentenced to prison following Lake County convictions for robbery and obstructing justice in 2005. He was paroled in April 2007, with discharge set for Sept. 25 if he met certain conditions.
Williams was charged Wednesday with obstructing justice when he refused to give his correct name to police after the raid, Filenko said. Williams is held in the Lake County jail in Waukegan.
Filenko said Stephanie Lohman, 27, was renting the Forest Glen Drive home southwest of Washington Street and Hainesville Road. Lohman, freed after posting bail, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Two individuals who fled the house when police approached were briefly detained but not charged, Filenko said. Another two occupants in the house were released after questioning.
Filenko said police did not find a weapon that was believed to have been in the house.
