Madigan fails to root out corruption
The attorney general of Illinois commented on the governor's budget cuts to her office on City Desk July 13.
There is no doubt the cut was politically motivated but would not affect murder prosecutions in the state as she claimed.
It would be rare for the attorney general's office to prosecute a murder case.
Actually, the governor should be happy with her work thus far in her term of office.
As the attorney of the people of the state, she should protect the interests of the people and accordingly should ensure that dedicated state funds are used for their intended purpose not to enrich political insiders.
She has been remiss in these duties; her office has not initiated nor prosecuted any state corruption cases.
Prime examples of misappropriation and misuse of state funds from road taxes, tool road fees, lottery revenues and Medicaid are all blatant examples of improper appropriations.
Her record in these efforts is bleak.
