Baby dies in camping accident

COLONA -- Authorities say a second child has died after a tree limb fell on a tent during a family camping trip.

Nine-month-old Savannah Stuebs died Sunday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Her uncle Dale Logerquist says the child suffered extensive brain damage and the family decided to turn off life support.

Several of the Stuebs family children were asleep together in a big tent in a Colona camp ground last week when high winds blew the branch down.

Four-year-old Dustin Stuebs died after the accident. Authorities say all the children suffered injuries.

The children's parents were sleeping in another tent nearby.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
