Herald article promotes hysteria

The Heralds story "Economic 'magic wand' isn't there" (July 16) has no place being on the front page.

I was taught in journalism it's the important news stories that go first with who, what where, when, why and how.

Your story is not news and starts with a bunch of opinions. Actual facts aren't related until later.

All this does is scare a lot of people. Scared people act hysterically. And when people act hysterical in any situation, matters only get worse.

This is irresponsible journalism.

And a worsening economy is just going to bite your behind as well. Are people going to give up food, their house or the paper?

Granted it's marked an "analysis," but does the average person understand the definition "the separation of an intellectual or whole into constituents for individual study."

I don't think anyone can take the entire U.S. economy, world economy and history of economy (you know the constituents) and make the comments you use in your opening paragraphs.

It's not analysis, it's opinion, like this in the second paragraph: "There is little officials can do to stop a run on the banks."

What, when where, why.

I have to conclude you don't even understand the word "analysis," and if you don't, how can you expect the average reader.
